News and articles from across the Woodland Realm. Brought to you by the Free Woodland Press in association with the Loxley Postal Service
The Idea behind the Tribune Today is very simply that at times in the writing of Heirs to the Kingdom, there can be gaps, for example the passage of time between books. In some of the series a time space opens between the end of the last book and the start of a new one, and it is within these spaces that this feature will play its role. The whole idea behind this website dedicated to HTTK, was to expand on areas of the story to provide a richer background to the books, and by using a series of articles and news headlines, we can fill in some of the gaps in a more fun and enjoyable format, especially for those who have read the books to date. Another area of this section of the website, is that it can be used as a blog, but a blog with a difference, because although Robin runs a blog about his experience of writing etc., this section allows him to involve the characters, which it is hoped will deepen the story and the whole HTTK experience.

For the purpose of making this one piece daily flyer feel realistic, Robin has set up a character named Gordon Waggstaff, who is the Millers son, and lives in Mottram on the edge of the Peak District. Gordon runs the local Postal Office during the day, and writes articles which he prints up in the evening to be despatched with the riders who travel through his office. Gordon is known to Rags (Loxley Postal Service) and her main rider for the Cheshire area Jennifer Watson, and it is through Rags and Jennifer that Gordon receives accurate information. Gordon is unsure of whether or not Loxley should take a stand against the powerful forces of Knox, and hopefully through his writing we will all get to see how those of the woodland world react. He is a Christian convert, who has left the local Fellowship of the Bowman lodge, and the Earth Faith, and through his paper you get to see how at times he becomes torn between the two. The Tribune is something that Mason Knox would love to stop, as it spreads the word of the Woodland cause, and so the one sheet flyer is a very well kept secret within the Postal Community, so be wary with whom you share this important woodland resource.
